The recent "Wylin and Friends" show by SikPik Productions at Bigs was an absolute blast! The night kicked off with "Ausom," who delivered some fantastic remixes of older yet popular songs. It was the perfect opening act to set the bar high and build anticipation for what was to come.
Next up was "Deadbeats," who brought a super chill vibe to the stage. Their performance was the perfect filler for the earlier part of the night, giving everyone a chance to relax and groove to the music.
But the real opener highlight was when "Yosef Moon" took the stage. This was our second time experiencing his set, and we were beyond excited. Not only does he run in some of our friend circles, but his talent and unique style have truly grown on us. The production level of the show stepped up at this point, with more lights illuminating the venue. It's safe to say that Yosef Moon is a local favorite DJ, judging by the way the crowd responded. He has definitely earned a spot on our personal local favorite list. It seemed like Moons set was cut a little short unfortunately. Guess we will just have to keep our eyes open for his next show!
The final opener was “NickO”. A perfect final opener to lead into the headliner. Very solid hype vibes! Didn’t lose any of Yosef Moons energy and added some of his own to the event and the crowd ate it up!
Now, the next act was supposed to be "Mr. Wobbles," but to our delighted surprise, he didn't show up. And honestly, we couldn't be happier about it. Let me tell you, we have a hard time supporting artists like Mr. Wobbles. You see, he's one of those artists who exaggerates their support numbers. His so-called "fame" mostly comes from his days as a Twitch streamer, and not from his music. The guy barely even promotes the shows he's on! I mean, his artist page on Facebook didn't even bother sharing the show flyer a single time, and his Instagram only shared the old flyer once before the venue change. It makes you wonder if he was actually sick or if he simply didn't want to show up to another local show with little to no personal ticket sales. It's no wonder we haven't heard a single positive thing about him from anyone in the local scene. In fact, we’ve even heard that you should be cautious with your number around him, unless you enjoy being bombarded with endless messages from multiple numbers. Yikes! Maybe just leave the wobbles to Ganja, we all know they are the Wobble-Masters.
But let's not dwell on the negative, because "Wylin" absolutely slayed the stage as the night's headliner. This guy never fails to impress. Over the years, the production quality has gone up, the lights have improved, and his energy has remained high and positive. It's always a good show when Wylin is in town. We also want to give a shoutout to him for quickly booking a new venue and updating the flyer when The Icon fell through. It's such a shame that electronic music has been steered away from The Icon. That venue has hosted some incredible nights across all genres, and it seems unfair to shadow ban an entire genre. But hey, at least Wylin knows how to adapt and keep the party going!
All in all, the "Wylin and Friends" show was an amazing experience. The lineup was on point, the energy was contagious, and the music was banging. We can't wait to see what SikPik Productions has in store for us next!
