WATCH: Biden delivers address after dropping out of 2024 election
“A Republic, if you can keep it.”
In his first address to the nation since dropping out of the 2024 election and endorsing his Vice President for the Democrat Party’s Nominee, President Joe Biden talked about, “passing the baton to a younger generation,” referring to Vice President Kamala Harris.
Biden said there is no place for violence in American, followed by a call to protect kids from gun violence. He also said he’d like to see SCOTUS reform, an end to the war in Gaza, and to bring home hostages across the world.
He touted, “beating big pharma,” saying he lowered costs for seniors. He claimed that the violent crime rate is the lowest it’s been in 50 years. The President also said border crossings are lower now than they were at the end of Trump’s administration.
He spoke about unity beginning with you, your family, and your neighbors. He said Kamala Harris is, “experienced and tough.” He even invoked the words of Benjamin Franklin when he was asked about what form of government he had given us during a Constitutional Convention in 1787 — “A republic, if you can keep it.”
In closing, he put a focus on, “We the People,” stating, “America is where kings and dictators do not rule.”
You can watch the entire speech, which was live streamed on X, in the video above.
It was nice of him to acknowledge we are, in fact, a Republic - I doubt he'll remember what he said by tomorrow, however 🤷🏻
Speaking of... 25th Amendment NOW!
Thanks for dropping this, Jeremy 🫡
Sounds like same old B.S.
