Sonreal Captivates the Crowd at the Revamped Amsterdam Bar in St. Paul, MN
Amsterdam bar, St. Paul, MN, USA
First of all, I want to give a huge shout out to Sonreal’s team. This may have been the fastest easiest press pass we have ever received for a MN show.
The Amsterdam bar in St. Paul, MN recently hosted a mesmerizing performance by the talented artist Sonreal, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the venue had undergone some significant changes to enhance the concert experience.
The line-in location had been shifted to a different door, and as we entered, we were immediately struck by the newly revamped divider between the stage and the bar area. The sound proofing had also been improved, resulting in a more immersive and higher-quality audio experience compared to previous visits.
The evening began with an opening act by Michael Minelli, who captivated the audience with his heartfelt and upbeat performance. Minelli's set was a celebration of love, as he seamlessly blended a nice compilation of old popular hits, getting the crowd bouncing with his engaging stage presence. His in-between talks led effortlessly into his songs, even teaching the audience a bit of his music to hook them in. As a fully independent artist, Minelli also was his own DJ and merchandise handler, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit.
As Minelli's set came to a close, the anticipation in the room palpably grew. When Sonreal finally took the stage, the entire venue seemed to light up with excitement. The artist immediately established a deep connection with the audience, speaking to them directly and sharing his passion for his craft.
One of the most intriguing aspects of Sonreal's performance was his ever-changing wardrobe. He started off in camouflage pants and a coat, which he gradually shed to reveal a tour hoodie and, finally, a vintage NASCAR-inspired shirt featuring the iconic "Vintage Dale Jarrett Ford Quality Care Service" design.
The audience's energy was felt, and at one point, the jumping and movement caused the entire structure to sway, a testament to their enthusiasm. Sonreal's DJ was the perfect complement to his performance, seamlessly blending the music and creating an immersive experience. The artist's casual banter with the audience, including joking about the lack of High Noon Seltzer in Canada and the need for a sponsor, only added to the rapport he had established.
One particularly poignant moment came when Sonreal played his hit song "Fearless," sharing how the track had helped fans through difficult times. For me, the song held a special significance, as I had listened to it on the drive home from an "awkward family dinner that followed my mother's recent suicide cry for help."
As the concert came to a close, we couldn't help but feel inspired by Sonreal's genuine and engaging performance. The Amsterdam bar had truly outdone itself, creating an unforgettable evening that left a lasting impression on all who were present. The opportunity to connect with the opener, who shared a common bond with our editor-in-chief with both being from Connecticut, only added to the sense of community and camaraderie that permeated the event. He shared with me that he connected with Sonreal off of something as small as a Facebook comment on the previous tour. The comment got a lot of love from fans. So fans this is proof here that you can hold sway in your artists path! Keep Supporting!
We left the venue feeling energized, having witnessed a truly remarkable performance that showcased Sonreal's talent, authenticity, and the power of music to bring people together. The revamped Amsterdam bar in St. Paul, MN had provided the perfect setting for this unforgettable Sonreal concert.
