Videos and images are circulating online showing smoke rising from the Kremlin after an alleged assassination attempt via two drone strikes, according to accusations made by Putin.
Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky denied the claims saying:
“We didn't attack Putin. We leave it to the tribunal. We fight on our territory, we are defending our villages and cities,”
Zelensky’s Presidential Advisor made statements following the accusations where he asserts that it’s not in Ukraines’ military interests to have done so. Between the arrest of “Ukrainian provocateurs,” and this drone strike on the Kremlin, Podolyk says it possible Russia is gearing up for a large scale attack against Ukraine, which would be a major escalation in the conflict.
Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak said the accusation that Kyiv was behind the attack, as well as Russia's arrest of alleged Ukrainian saboteurs, could indicate Moscow was preparing for a large-scale 'terrorist' attack of its own against Ukraine in the coming days.
Podolyak added that 'Ukraine does not attack the Kremlin because, firstly, that does not solve any military aims'.

Despite Kyiv’s denial of any involvement, Russian officials are reportedly calling for escalations following the incident, leading some to believe that the attack on the Kremlin was actually a false flag event.
Russia’s statements, which were covered by Russian news agencies late last night following the incident, claim Russia downed the aircraft after the strikes. Russia has provided no evidence to support those claims, and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken made statements at an event in Washington stating, “I've seen the reports. I cannot validate them, we simply don't know. I would take anything coming out of the Kremlin with a very large shaker of salt.‘
