Neon Horizon recently performed at Bigs Bar. The venue was adorned with neon slinky's hanging from the ceiling, creating a mesmerizing visual display that perfectly matched the band's name. The attention to detail in the setup was impressive and added to the overall atmosphere of the show.
The shirts they had recently released were proudly displayed on the merch table, and the band took the time to give our merch company RaveTopia a shoutout. It was heartwarming to hear a few of the fellow RaveTopia supporters whistle at the announcement. It was great to see the shirts moving throughout the night as well!
What sets Neon Horizon apart from other Midwest bands is their genuine passion for music. Unlike some bands that use a female vocalist solely for aesthetic purposes, Neon Horizon is a collective of true musician-artists. Each member of the band brings their own unique talent and skill to the table, resulting in a mature and well-rounded musical experience. The female vocalist possesses a pleasant voice that beautifully complements the band's sound.
One of the highlights of the show was the individual solos performed by each member of the band. It was evident that they were not only great as a collective but also incredibly talented as solo artists. Their mastery of their instruments was showcased during these solos, leaving the audience in awe of their musical abilities.
The show itself was a refreshing change from the norm. It was a free show, focusing solely on the music and creating a good time for everyone in attendance. The band did not prioritize headcount but instead aimed to create an enjoyable experience for their fans and local attendees. The absence of a cover charge and it being all ages made the event more accessible and inclusive.
While the band's instrumental sets were impressive and I admit can be difficult to work stage space around, it would have been interesting to see them incorporate a small DJ set or a performer like Ukalady, who doesn't require much stage space or sound check time. This would have added variety to the show and filled the brief dead air at the start of the show.
On the way home I felt bad because I decided to take a Lyft since the cops were out like crazy for no apparent reason, as even a made up ticket as I have observed in my life costs a lot more than a Lyft. My poor Lyft driver was pretty much the only one downtown that stopped and moved over and waited for the ambulances that came through. This caused him to go through the last light of downtown right before the bridge a little late but still overall following the flow of traffic. Well I saw a cop whip out and barely remember to turn his lights on as he sped around the car that had turned behind us and Officer Toland gave my Lyft driver a $130 ticket right after my driver just told me he was trying to hit the Lyft bonus for the weekend.
Overall the Neon Horizon show at Bigs Bar was a great night. The band's dedication to their craft and commitment to creating an enjoyable experience for their fans made the event a success.
I checked out their music. You're right, they are fantastic. Thanks for posting.
