I was invited to my friend’s work- and what a great surprise. Look’s Marketplace is a fantastic little market with a wide variety of things- such as, fresh meat counter, fresh bakery, fresh cheese, and even a quaint little place to eat. They have a patio that sits right on the golf course. They even have a bar and amazing food!!!! I have never been here before, but was glad I made the trip.
They were holding a free event, called “A Visual Feast” with Look’s employees and family members who could showcase their local art. There was music, a variety of tables with items for sale, and even an aerial acrobatic show. Everyone was so open and friendly and it really set the mood for the beautiful day.
Cassia had some amazing photos that she took available for sale. I loved how she took all these photos herself, and the frames really helped them stand out! Check out her instagram @Cassia.photo
There was other artwork, some delicious desserts and honey by Zach Schindler, and salsa by Mama Troll for sale that is only available at Look’s. Bonnie had her beautiful jewelry for sale, some plants, and was doing Henna tattoos! There also was a gentleman named Vince Hofer who was live drawing cartoons. I bought myself a little cactus and got a henna tattoo from Bonnie and also bought a little plant from her as well.
Here were some cool designs on skateboard decks by Lane Foell. After enjoying the sun and listening to the music, I learned a lot about Look’s. Not only is it a great place to work, but they treat all their employees like family. I was thrilled to have a girls day with Kassia, Bonnie, Amanda, and Angela. My mom and niece even came for a little bit too!
My fancy drink called “The Raven” and our henna tattoos. Mine was the yin yang and Bonnie did amazing!
At 6pm, the aerial show began and it was amazing.
I love that Look’s made this a free, fun, family event for all to join. This was their 3rd year hosting this event and I hope they continue on in this tradition. It is definitely something I would go do again. Check out this tiny aerial acrobat!
So if you are out and about in Sioux Falls, and want to experience a unique experience, I suggest going to Look’s Marketplace. The homey feel, with a wide variety of local vendors, and authenticity really makes for a great experience.
How far away are you from Ottumna? My cousin lives there and he would really like Look's Market. Thank you for the great article.
