Delaware County councilman comes out as a lesbian woman of color
Councilman Ryan Webb made a statement coming out as a lesbian woman of color. When challenged, he doubled down saying his identify needs no affirmation, and that the law allows for him to do so.
In a hilariously ironic display of what would be deemed “transphobia” by the left, multiple individuals came out in condemnation against the Indiana councilman to express their disdain for his statements.
Some went as far as to call for his “execution” according to multiple sources.
His post on Facebook reads as such:
It is with great relief that I announce to everyone that I identify as a woman and not just any woman but as a woman of color as well. I guess this would make me gay/lesbian as well, since I am attracted to women.
Whew, that felt good to finally get that out there and start living life as my true self. I’m excited to bring some diversity to the county council.
Until today we didn’t have any females of color or LGBTQIAPC+++ on the council. I’m glad that now we do!
He was later contacted by the local news outlet WISH-TV for an in person interview, which he denied, but gave them a statement which reads:
It is unfortunate, but a group called Indiana Progressives has decided to organize a hate and harassment campaign against me and my family by publishing my address and encouraging people to unlawfully congregate at my home.
I have to look out for the safety of my family, including our 6 children. There are people with serious mental health issues encouraging people who are unwelcome to come to my home, so I think it’s best to politely decline your on-camera interview.
Surprisingly, the Republican councilman has stood his ground amidst the “intolerant” and “hateful” attacks against him and his family.
The accusations against him are that he is making a mockery of those with identity issues and that he should not be able to flippantly identify as something he is not, because it is not genuine.
But he rightfully pushed back on this notion, in spirit of what the left has worked tirelessly to ensure, stating that he found it “unfortunate” that he could not "simply be given the same space and respect to explore my identity that so many of those targeting me demand for themselves." Webb also told WISH-TV that while his "American Indian heritage is not up for debate," it remains "possible I may change my mind down the road."
From my personal perspective, I think he is doing the right thing. I do not wish to make a mockery of people who have genuine dysphoric disorders, as it’s an unfortunate situation to be in. At times, it can also be deadly. I would wish it on no one.
What he has shown by doing this is exposing the holes in how these issues are approached from a social, and legal perspective. I’m not covering this issue to gloat; well, not entirely that is.
I covered this because I think it’s important we proceed with a more critical and comprehensive approach to how we address the grievances of these communities that insist they have rights that are being denied.
As it stands, there is nothing preventing any person from identifying as whatever they please. It’s clear that this is offensive to those on the left for the same reasons that the right find it offensive that any male can claim to identify as a women, enter a women’s sports competition, and absolutely dominate.
For example, when David Hughes, a 70 year old male, entered the women’s poker tournament, and subsequently won the competition.
