Some of us are, sadly. And some play both sides for the win. When people die, it reminds me that we really are in a war. One where our enemy hides in darkness picking people off to advance the war effort. Then blames the targets for it. It's downright sick.
This article seems to be implying that the Trump administration is attempting to remove the rights of the people as far as the 2nd amendment goes by having ICE agents find illegal immigrants and removing them and deploying national guard in crime infested cities where the politicians are allowing and even promoting criminals to prey on their citizens with virtual impunity, both of which actions seem legal and constitutional at this point. I don't see where the 2nd amendment is at threat . Unless you're arguing for anarchy as a better way forward?
It’s not insinuating Trump is trying to undo the second amendment. It’s a reminder at a time when the 2nd amendment rights are being challenged yet again amidst shootings, that we have guns for a very specific reason.
One of the main concerns of the framers was “federal standing armies” that would oppress the people.
Regardless of the potential legality or lack thereof of trumps federalization and deployment of NG in unwilling states/cities, the framers would be weary of this kind of things, and the 2nd amendment was largely drafted with this kind of thing in mind.
There honestly couldn’t be a more prudent modern day example of what it was truly intended for.
Only predators seek a defenseless population.
And they think we’re all too stupid to realize it.

Let me clarify.

That’s what the article is about.
